Well lately we’ve been really busy playing host at home because the mr’s distant relatives from China specially flew in to visit Ahma and to see the Mr’s wife to be…

That’s “Dua Gu” (uncle) and “Dua Hm” (aunt) and “Dua Pek” (eldest uncle). It was a really nice session having everyone so happy and all, eating, drinking.

To me the best part was just being there and listening to them telling me the stories of the Mr when he had visited them in China.

It was quite an adventure, because the mr had fallen damn ill due to a very bad food poisoning caused by oysters when he was there visiting them- he was only a young boy.

Both his uncle had carried him all the way to the hospital and even bribed the hospital staffs just so the mr could get to see the dr to be treated immediately and not left to wait and die. It was kind of sad to hear that bribery and corruption is still as bad in China.

No surprise that we would be questioned when are we tying the knot because we’ve been together for the longest time- 3yrs.

To everyone it’s like we’re supposed to be married already because 3 years of dating is just too long.

I was pleasantly surprised when the Mr told everyone that we’ll be getting married soon. And we’ll fly over to Shantou to visit them after we’re wedded.

I don’t know why but I felt touched and was really delighted. This is a very special thing to me because as much as the mr’s ex would love to compare that she was the first in everything of the Mr’s life, I never would have thought that I would the first and last girl in his life that he wants to marry and I’m also the first girl to meet the whole family both his mum’s and dad’s side and his extended family in China.

But till then, I have certain goals that I have to do before I want to settle down. Completing my studies and stabilise my career that’s most important now to me.
